Cayman real estate has been extremely prosperous for many years, however, it experienced a knock back in 2004 as a result of the destruction caused by hurricane Ivan. Ivan was the worst hurricane on record to hit the islands. This had a negative impact on the property market, as many properties were destroyed and approximately 70% were damaged during the storm. The people of the Cayman Islands immediately began to rebuild their islands and within two years it’s infrastructure returned to pre Ivan levels. I am now proud to say that the rebuild has surpassed my expectations and developments on the island continue to excite me through there superb quality and innovativeness.
New buildings are now being developed to the highest of standards using the latest innovative technologies.
All real estate in Cayman is regulated by The Cayman Islands Real Estate Brokers Association (CIREBA). They guide agents under strict rules and regulations to make home buying easier and safer for vendors and purchasers. CIREBA makes it possible for prospective buyers to view any property in Cayman with any CIREBA qualified real estate agent. This allows buyers to work with one agent and view all available properties island wide.
CIREBA also publish a magazine which lists most of the properties for sale in the Cayman Islands. This magazine is published three times a year and can be obtained locally for free.
